A country in the city

Eyvindholt offers wonderful views of Álftanes, Reykjavík and the surrounding area, including the nearby presidential residence, Bessastaðir. The guesthouse is a short distance from the culture, trade and amenities of the capital, being only a 15-minute drive from Reykjavík’s city center, as well as just a 38-minute drive from Keflavik International Airport. Our unique location allows guests to experience both being close to the city as well as the diverse nature of Álftanes. Álftanes can be described as “country in the city” because it has beaufitul nature along the seaside and an old farm where they still make hay and raise farm animals such as horses and Icelandic settlement chickens. Dramatic landscapes are visible in all directions: from the Snæfellsnes peninsula in the north to the Reykjanes peninsula in the south. The bird life is varied and colorful all year-round. Icelandic weather is unpredictable and its changes can be experienced in all seasons. The location also offers a great opportunity to view northern lights during the winter and conditions are often good for astronomical viewing.

Because of the location and for our guest's comfort we recommend renting a car. However, taxis and bus service are also nearby for those who prefer it.
